The implant poked slightly through the inside of my nose, so I went in for a removal consultation. My nose has silicone + ear cartilage + septal cartilage, and in a previous surgery the doctor put Medpor in without my consent. I didn't know, but the part that poked through was the inflammation, and that's why contracture is progressing.. They had me lie down and looked closely at my nose, and confirmed that what poked through was Medpor. For now, they said to remove it first and then do a second surgery 6 months to 1 year later to lower the tip with ear cartilage, and that left me really unsettled.. They said that's the safest way, and that if they only remove it, the lifted tip won't come down, and if they do the lowering surgery together and then infection happens, all the transplanted cartilage will melt and have to be removed. Just having surgery once now is already so painful, but having to do it twice would be psychologically really hard. Also, I was a bit puzzled that they said they didn't need to remove the capsule, and the cost was higher than I expected, so for now I'm putting it on hold..
