I went for a consultation about removing an autologous costal cartilage spreader graft, an autologous costal cartilage columellar strut, a rib-cartilage nasal bridge, and the cartilage that had been stacked up in the nasal tip. The director was kind and took a long time to explain things step by step. Because of nasal function, they said to leave the spreader graft and remove everything else. They said rib cartilage is hard to remove cleanly and even if it is removed, it can still end up uneven, so if my thin skin might show it, I should use autologous dermis. I’m hesitant because I don’t want to add anything else. Even though there’s that condition of "if" and it’s making me consider leaving the spreader graft in place, I’m wondering whether I should use dermis after all. I’ve consulted at several places, but no one said anything about the possibility of putting something back on the bridge of the nose... I was satisfied with the consultation, so I’ll need to think a little more before deciding.
