I had double-eyelid surgery 6 years ago. I had it done with the buried-suture method, and now it’s almost come undone into just a very faint inner double fold, but since the surgery was originally for ptosis, it’s much easier to keep my eyelids lifted. But the swelling went down unevenly, which was a bit surprising. Still, now it’s more or less even, so I’m not worried about it.
