Choosing this hospital and this doctor was... I think it was a stroke of divine genius... If I had done even a little less hand-searching and foot-searching, I would've probably needlessly added 2 or 3 million won, put a cannula through my navel and gluteal cleft without even getting the range of motion out of it, gotten a worse line, or ended up riding the subway for dozens of minutes because of bad transportation, and just thinking about that gives me chillsㄷ.. I have already written way too many reviews about liposuction surgery, so I'll just leave a review about Model Line Gangnam and Dr. Kim. 1. The entire 5th floor is the surgery floor + there are 4 recovery rooms, and it's totally brand new. If you've done even a little hand-searching and foot-searching, you'll know there are plenty of surgery reviews saying things like, “I went into the treatment room and it felt like a 1980s dental clinic,” or “I was so shocked because they did the surgery in a little back room right next to the doctor consultation room.” I went prepared for that too, but it turned out the entire 5th floor was the surgery floor, there were about 4 really nice recovery rooms, and the operating room was also really brand new. A university hospital probably isn't even this brand new..? So I was really surprised, and because there were 4 recovery rooms, I didn't have to panic about needing to free up the next patient's spot while recovering. It was also nice when changing clothes, and the nurses gave off a very professional feeling. I had surgery twice, and I think the operating room nurses changed each time, but I'm not sure about that. 2. CEO Director Kim Hyeon-seung First of all, he was young, kind, and gentle, but had a vibe like the very cautious math instructor Jeong Seung-je, and his face reading was kind of similar too. Since I'm a bit of a loner, when I was waiting at the reception desk in the waiting room I sat there with a blank "shing-ha hyung ㄱ-" expression, but whenever I went to get stitches removed or for aftercare, he would always come over and say, “Oh! Hello,” and chat with me like, “How are you after the surgery... You look pale... can I check under your eyes...” In the consultation, he was the only one among the 4 hospitals I visited who pointed out that my navel was rotated and that my ribs were at different heights, and from the PPT he showed, it looked like he attends a lot of academic conferences. 3. Staff kindness At first, the assigned coordinator gave me a kind-robot sort of feeling, and I did feel like they were pushing surgery a bit, so I was disappointed ㄱ-. But it was the complete opposite of the vibe you get from the coordinator at a one-doctor clinic with a strong personality; they were gentle, and I never felt like my questions or complaints would be brushed off. Also, since surgery and consultation are with the doctor anyway, I thought, ah, this is where a large hospital is good! The front desk staff had more of a typical Gangnam hospital employee vibe...? Busy at times, but they still kept their politeness. And more than anything, I saw a review saying the operating room nurses were villains, so I went into the operating room trembling, but I didn't get that vibe at all. Right after surgery there was an older nurse who took good care of me, and that was true when removing stitches too; she was kind, so don't worry about that. The rude reviews may have been written in early 2024? I also saw that the hospital moved to Gangnam around May 2024, so maybe the staff changed too? Anyway, based on my two surgeries there, I didn't get any rude feeling. 4. Aftercare (low-frequency, high-frequency) But the staff who handled aftercare... hmm, I don't really know ㄱ-. I thought it was good that I bought a separate home-care device. They were kind of rude..? They said my swelling seemed like it hadn't gone down much, and I was like, ah, I asked the doctor not to remove too much fat, so it might not have come off completely flat... but maybe they misunderstood and heard that as me blaming the doctor for not removing enough. So they were like, that's not it, the doctor is the kind of person who removes fat thoroughly, right? What do you meanㅡㅡ No, what are you talking aboutㅡㅡ After that the mood got a bit... weird, and while doing the high-frequency treatment I was trying hard not to laugh because it was itchy, but the staff member just had a blank expression and was like, “Does it hurt? Ah, you mean it itches?...” -_- I felt so miserable in that situation.. The treatment itself... the low-frequency one just felt like thump-thump-thump.. and it was worse than my home device, while the high-frequency one was, I guess, a monopolar method where they rubbed a metal plate on my back... Anyway, it did seem effective, but it wasn't like, wow, this is way better than a home device! Still, I definitely recommend high-frequency aftercare!! (Though I understand you first need low-frequency treatment, and high-frequency is supposed to be done once you've recovered more.) And is there more to write?.. Anyway, I really, really think I was right to get surgery here. I thought it would be a place that pushed marketing aggressively because it was a large hospital, but there was absolutely none of that, no asking me to write posts anywhere or anything like that, and the only thing was taking after photos when I went to remove the stitches. Even in the reviews here, there are so many hospitals that post reviews every day in an obviously staged way, but this place doesn't seem to do any of that at all, and anyway it's really great..
