The lateral canthal ligament is important because it keeps the eyelid closely attached to the eyeball and allows the outer corner of the eye to move freely, but this procedure cuts it and fixes it firmly to the periosteum. As a result, my eye movements became unnatural and felt uncomfortable. When I squeezed my eyes shut or sneezed, it pulled and hurt, and even when I was still, the headache, pulling sensation, and feeling of fixation were severe. It has been over a year and it still bothers me. I have to live for the rest of my life with a thread connecting the outer corner of my eye to the periosteum. They say I have to pay to have it released. It would require cutting the tissue again… and leave a scar… Sensitive people may be better off not having it. The incision is about 1 cm, but the scar is quite large and remains white. It shows. It turns red when I drink alcohol. If you do not want a facial scar, I do not think you should have it. Also, they say the length cannot be adjusted because it is fixed to the periosteum, but the right and left lengths are different. Since it is connected all the way to the end of the periosteum, the outer corner is lifted and it is obvious that I had lateral canthoplasty. If you want a natural look, I do not think you should have it. The eye corner is lifted and the red tissue is exposed, causing redness and severe dry eye. I had conjunctival edema for about two months? It did not go away, so I could not wear contacts, and even now I rarely can. I am worried about harming my eye health. Recovery took an extremely long time. If you wear contacts, I do not think this is a good procedure for you. When I smile, the outer corner wrinkles and the aegyo-sal is interrupted… This is what makes me saddest. My eyes definitely look bigger, but it does not feel like a normal eye shape… If you want a natural look and dislike an obvious surgical appearance, I do not think you should have it. Rather than my original face becoming naturally larger-looking, I was confronted with a new face and felt bewildered… I want to go back to before having this surgery. This is the first time in my life I have created something I regret this much. I cannot go back, so I am living as if I had been in a traffic accident. The biggest mistake of my entire life.
