It's been about 7 years since the surgery, so I don't remember well, but fat was reduced a lot, and I still don't have a double chin. The doctor wasn't very kind, which was a bit off-putting, but the surgical effect is pretty good. There was basically no swelling. Even right after the surgery, the swelling was less than where I originally had fat. Instead, the lower line below the mouth couldn't be operated on (they said it was impossible from the lip line to the chin tip because of the nerves), so the lower face is a bit unbalanced. I was also searching everywhere for substitutes, surgery, procedures, etc... I ended up relying on things like Accu, fat-dissolving injections (the expensive ones that cost close to 200 per shot..), and chin botox.. If you don't have much fat around the lips or chin, I strongly recommend it. Especially if you never want a double chin to form..
