This wasn't one of the major procedures that many people get, so I should have done a lot more legwork and decided carefully, but because it was my first surgery, I didn't really understand that, so I regret not researching properly before getting it done. It's been a while since the surgery, so I'm not sure how it is now, but the reception staff were rather unfriendly, and the doctor wasn't very kind during the consultation either. Since everyone's left and right facial symmetry is different, the doctor should have considered that and placed the dimples accordingly, but instead he did the surgery using a textbook approach, saying that if you connect the point where the lips end to the point where the eyes end, the intersection is where the dimples should go. Theoretically that might be the right way to determine the position, but he should have considered each person's different facial structure when placing them. In the end, the dimples look uneven from the front and the positions are different: the right side is marked lower, and the left side is farther back and higher up (it's obviously asymmetrical, so people around me keep saying it looks wrong and calling it uneven, which stresses me out a lot). Two days or so after the surgery, I felt anxious and called the hospital to talk about it. The coordinator who had been so kind before surgery, saying yes yes, that's right, when I called saying it seemed like the surgery had gone wrong, suddenly didn't do any empathic listening or speaking at all, and her attitude was completely different from before. I understand the hospital has its own side too, but I think things like this should be improved as part of aftercare. When I went to have the stitches removed and told the doctor about the asymmetry, he casually said then just remove one side, but I paid for both sides of the dimple surgery, so if one side is removed, will they refund the price for the half that was removed?^^ It wasn't a big amount, so I didn't even want to ask for a partial refund, but that response was a bit.. Well, I guess it was my own fault for not doing enough legwork and just getting the surgery impulsively.. I haven't had any other surgery or procedure at this hospital, so maybe they are good at other things?
