When I went for a consultation three years ago, after consulting with the chief consultant I naturally thought I would also consult with the director, but they said I couldn't consult with the director, so I only consulted with the chief consultant. The chief consultant explained things kindly and well, but the fact that I couldn't consult with the director who would actually perform the surgery lowered my trust.
