I've been to a lot of hospitals for contouring consultations, but this is the first doctor who handled my face so much that it got squished; Of course they also took a CT scan, but they kneaded my face like clay and checked whether the issue was fat, bone, or laxity. (Usually, when you ask whether the skin will sag after surgery, they say it depends on the person, or only that it might sag because there is fat there. But here the doctor actually felt the fat directly and checked the elasticity and fat, too.) The conclusion was that I should not get contouring. He said the problem was more fat than bone, my elasticity was not that good either, and that my facial fat seemed kind of clumped together. He said liposuction on the face would not remove it well. (He also caught that I had gotten contouring injections about 10 times, and that they had caused adhesions and clumped the fat together.) He said my face shape was not the kind that would look better after contouring. If it were a face shape that would improve with contouring, he would do it, but since it wouldn't, why do it? He also said I don't have prominent cheekbones. He said it was fat, not bone. He explained it while comparing me with photos of people who actually have cheekbones. (For the cheekbones too, he pushed all the fat aside to check whether it was fat or bone, and said that even if you reduce the cheekbones, if the fat sags then what's the point?) But in other hospitals too, and even to my eye, I do have 45-degree cheekbones, so I found it a bit odd that he said I don't.. Then when I asked, "So should I do double jaw surgery + contouring?" he said that with double jaw surgery you can shorten the face length, but if sagging happens you'll just end up doing lifting and more lifting in an endless loop, and asked if I planned to keep getting surgery. (Actually, I thought lifting would be essential if I got contouring, but I liked that he honestly told me about the sagging after surgery too.) He told me that I am already attractive enough, that even a long face can be attractive, and that I should accept myself. I still do worry about my long face, but he was not a doctor who would commercially push everyone onto the operating table; he was a doctor who spoke sincerely, taking into account the post-op result too. From all the consultations I've had at different places until now, there were all kinds of things like lifeless explanations and the feeling of just being rushed through and told to leave, and patients can see all of that, but here I paid 20,000 won for the consultation and they spoke realistically, so neither my time nor my money felt wasted. If you want to know exactly what the problem with your face shape is, I definitely recommend going here first. (I wrote the cost down arbitrarily because I didn't even get told it.)
