They said that for the double eyelid line to come out well, I absolutely had to get upper canthoplasty. I was worried that my eyes would look too close together or harsh, but they said upper canthoplasty is a surgery that makes the eyes look gentler and that my eyes wouldn't look closer together, so I trusted them and went ahead. The result was that because of the excessive upper canthoplasty, the distance between my eyebrows and eyes got smaller and my eyes ended up looking too close together, ruining the balance completely. They didn't look gentle at all, and as I had worried during the consultation, excessive exposure of the caruncle made them look extremely harsh. As a side effect I developed severe aegyo-sal hollowing and a broken aegyo-sal line, and I was left with sunken scars, vertical scars, black scars, and white scars. The shape of the eyes and the amount of caruncle exposure also became different on each side. One eye ended up hook-shaped, and the other looked like someone had carved the upper, lower, front, and back with a spoon. Dog ears also developed. During the consultation, they clearly said the symmetry would be better than before surgery, but the asymmetry became extremely severe. I became much uglier than before the surgery and only ended up with a lot of side effects and scars.. But the doctor says that when he looks at my eyes, they are not close together and that the surgery went well. I wish I could upload photos here. At a revision-specialist hospital, they told me the canthoplasty was done too aggressively and that the impression before and after canthoplasty would likely differ a lot. I have searched everywhere for upper canthoplasty reviews, and I've never seen anyone as ruined as me.
