I booked a consultation because I wanted contouring surgery for all 3 areas, and they took a 20,000 won consultation fee as a prepayment. Anyway, this was my second consultation after visiting another hospital first, and I was so surprised because the consultation content was completely different from what I had expected. First of all, I’ve always covered the side of my face with my hair because when seen from the front, the side-face space is wide, and I wanted to stop feeling stressed, so my top priorities were zygoma reduction and temple reduction. My third priority was square-jaw reduction. But Dr. ㅂㄴㅎ looked at my face and photos and immediately said, 'Where is the cheekbone here?' and that it wouldn’t be effective, and didn’t even want to listen to my opinion, just scolded me like a teacher... He showed me photos of other people and said that only people like this get cheekbone surgery, but the faces he showed were obviously only people with little facial fat or with cheekbones that looked extremely, extremely prominent.. But as people who are considering contouring surgery know, not everyone has severely protruding cheekbones; some people just want to smooth out uneven facial lines and make their face look narrower, right? He said, 'For your level, it’s not even wide. Of course, depending on the person it may or may not seem wide,' but plastic surgery is ultimately for cosmetic purposes and self-satisfaction, and I was deciding to have surgery because it looks wide to me and it stresses me out. He was so forceful about his own opinion that I didn’t want to keep talking, so when he asked if I had any more questions, I said no and just wanted to finish quickly and leave. Compared with other hospitals, based on the surgery methods and the before-and-after photos they explained, my face is definitely not the kind that would get no effect from cheekbone reduction surgery?? When I saw photos of people with face shapes similar to mine, they got a big before-and-after difference in the way I wanted, and even at this hospital they said that because my features are distinct, if only the empty space is reduced, my eyes would look bigger and I’d look prettier...? The director here, Dr. ㅂㄴㅎ, and directors with a similar surgery style seem like they would not get results for people like me whose cheekbones do not protrude dramatically but who have wide side-face space and temples!! They were just bluntly saying my face wouldn’t benefit at all or whatever. Of course, every doctor has different ideas about pursuing natural-looking results, so they can judge that way, but because of the way he talked so dismissively and like he was lecturing me, I felt so bad. For anyone considering surgery here, in my opinion it would be better only for people who have very little facial fat so the cheekbones look extremely prominent, people who want natural changes, or people who are very concerned about safety. Still, the head manager was kind.
