(There are absolutely no false claims, and this is my account as a consumer of what I experienced.) Really, really the worst. I’m so depressed that my first surgery got ruined like this. Right now, it’s been almost 7 months since I had incisional double eyelid surgery here, and my right double eyelid is loosening. It feels like it’ll come undone soon. Also, the heights of the left and right sides don’t match, and it just looks like I had double eyelid surgery and am advertising it. The incision shouldn’t have been made so much that my eyes can’t fully close like before. A little bit of the whites show. I’m seriously so stressed. And this is just the beginning. I’m going to say everything, from the consultation to the end First, I called to make a consultation appointment, but they didn’t answer, so I went there in person. But this happened once at that time too, maybe they were busy. There were so many people that I had to wait more than 30 minutes just to get a consultation. But all those people were in their 40s to 60s. Not almost all of them, but literally everyone except me was older. At that point I should have realized this wasn’t the place for me and left, but since it felt wasteful to come all this way, I decided to just get the consultation. At first I got consultations with the manager and another staff member. Each one was about 5 minutes? Then I waited again and met with the director for about 5 minutes..? He seemed very gentle. I thought that was the case at the time. After the consultation, I came out, thought about it, and just decided to go with this hospital. The reason was stupid. Among the hospitals I had looked into, it was the cheapest. The only information I could get was that I would do incisional surgery, under local anesthesia, and it normally cost 650,000 won, but if I paid in cash it would be 600,000 won. That was it, seriously. When I booked by phone, I even asked if partial incision was possible, and they said all kinds of things, but in the end it was incision. It felt odd, so I asked again the same way, and they said it would be incision. I tried to think positively because incision is less likely to come undone, and because I have a bit of eyelid fat. Basically, I was just stupid overall, and since it was double eyelid surgery I thought there wouldn’t be anything very risky and that they would take care of it properly. But I still have a lot to say. From here on, because this was my first cosmetic surgery, I may not be able to say with certainty whether this hospital is really weird or not. I’ll just talk about what I experienced. On the day of surgery, before the final consultation, I filled out the consent form. They said the surgery would be done by the director, but the final suture tying would be done by another licensed doctor?? I was like, huh? but said okay, paid, and went for the consultation. Honestly, no lie, I thought the director was a different person. The way he spoke changed so much, and even his voice changed, that I really thought it was another person, so when he told me to look forward, to look at him while he checked the double eyelid fold, I was staring straight at the director. I really thought it was a different person.. Up to then all I knew was: incision, local anesthesia, 600,000 won. That consultation right before surgery lasted about 3 minutes. He poked around with a sharp tool to mark it himself and then sent me into surgery. I thought they’d give me a surgery gown, but I was lying down in the clothes I came in wearing and the surgery went ahead. This is what I’m most curious about. Is that really okay..? There were about 5 people? One of them was getting scolded by the director while the person just went “yes, yes~..” like it was a hassle, and from that moment I somehow had a bad feeling things were doomed. Since I had seen reviews from other people who had similar experiences after double eyelid surgery.. In other vlog videos they draw the line beforehand with a pen during the consultation, but something felt off, and only after I lay down did he just draw the line however he wanted. I could feel him drawing a line that went all the way down toward the end of the eye. I really wanted to storm out. But why didn’t I leave? Because I still thought, at least it’ll be average. Double eyelid surgery is supposed to be one of the easiest cosmetic surgeries, and with so many patients, I thought they’d do at least an okay job, that they’d handle it themselves. I was just a complete sucker. If it were now, I’d just ask for a mirror right away and look. No, I’d just avoid a hospital like that. The surgery ended in 30 minutes. Afterward, while applying ointment, I think it was a nursing assistant and the staff member who tied the stitches, but why were they teaching a doctor how to apply ointment? The doctor was applying ointment to my eyes and his hands were shaking so badly that I was shaking too. After everything was done, while my mom was buying the medicine at the pharmacy, I was taking the usual day-1 photo, and something felt off. The stitches were strange. If other people’s stitches right after double eyelid surgery look smooth, mine were all squiggly..? It felt like the flesh had just been stitched together. I don’t know if that’s a real method or if they were a quack, but even if it were the latter, it wouldn’t be surprising. I diligently took photos every day. Even when there were signs of asymmetry, even when I had exposure keratopathy symptoms, even when the line seemed weird, I clenched my teeth and waited. Whenever I asked the hospital, they only said I had to wait, and that was all they could say anyway. But now, more than 6 months later, all I can say is profanity. After the CSAT, I’m getting revision surgery at another hospital, whatever the aftercare. I tried to save money and ended up losing more. And it wasn’t just money. The time I wasted going back and forth to Seoul from the moment I booked this hospital, the money, how much I suffered after surgery and struggled to reduce the swelling, how many times I had to run to the bathroom because of the antibiotics among the medicines I was taking, my anxious mind filling Naver search results with incisional double eyelid surgery, and when I said my eyes wouldn’t close enough and went back to the hospital at 3 months to have them look at it, the person called the manager before I met the director and scolded me for not answering when she called, then when I showed them photos of my eyes not closing, they scrolled through my gallery and shamelessly looked at other photos too, and after waiting more than 30 minutes again and finally meeting the director, he said “Try closing your eyes tightly,” and when I did, he said “They close fine, though?” Does a kid not even 20, trying their first surgery because they want to look pretty, deserve no guilt? Seriously, as long as you make money, that’s all that matters. They’re still swarming with people, too. I guess I was the problem from the start. It was my fault for ignoring everything and choosing this hospital just because it was cheap. I heard they moved hospitals, so I guess I’ll have to go check it out once.
