I had a hard time booking the consultation, but since it was a weekday afternoon, traffic was bad and I was 30 minutes late for the consultation (actually I took the wrong road because the Naver address was wrong). No matter what the reason, it was my fault for being late, and I also think it’s right that the consultation time should be shortened by however late I was. They only need to say everything they need to within the shortened time. But the director’s attitude was just... something else. It wasn’t that he was rude, but he didn’t seem to have any enthusiasm for surgery at all. If he didn’t want to do it, couldn’t he just say not to come? He just glanced at me, touched my nose a few times, and said something like, “You can do it this way,” whether I agreed or not... That was the real feeling I got. I had made the consultation appointment with great difficulty because I had heard this clinic was so good, and I booked it after calling several times to ask whether there were any no-shows, since the wait was said to be a month. I don’t know whether he was angry or not. I do think he had a reason to be angry. But after the consultation, I was so, so angry.. I’ve met doctors who scolded me and doctors who spoke bluntly, but I always left those hospitals in a good mood because those doctors clearly showed a will to perform surgery and you could feel that they were researching and thinking through many things for the patients being consulted. But I didn’t feel that at all in this clinic’s consultation.. Also, if this is the attitude before surgery, I wondered how they would possibly handle aftercare afterward, and if any unexpected side effects occurred (I think that depends more on luck than on the doctor’s skill), what kind of attitude they would have then. So no matter how well they may perform surgeries, I did not want to have one at a clinic like this. If you don’t want to operate, please just tell people not to come. When I was late, I called the clinic every 10 minutes and kept apologizing, asking what I should do and whether I could still come for the consultation. They said I could come, right? If you’re just going to give a 10-minute consultation and send people away, then please don’t call them in the first place. It was only natural that the consultation manager, who knew I had struggled to get the appointment, looked at my face right after the consultation and said, “You seem unsatisfied, what should I do?”... Sigh, even now just thinking about it makes me angry.
