The consultation went in the order of director first, then manager. The director had this vibe of "I'm the best and I do the best work." They said, "In the end, the surgery is done by the doctor, and you just need to find the doctor who does it best." Their confidence was really high, and they explained things nonstop, asking, "Any questions?" But even when I expressed my own opinion, it felt like it wouldn't matter, so I got intimidated. The explanations were short and clipped, and when they asked, "Any questions?" I felt like if I had none, they might tell me to leave. So I forced myself to come up with a couple of questions. We talked for maybe 5 or 6 minutes? It felt like it ended very quickly, and I was thinking, "Maybe there wasn't a consultation fee here? Is that why the explanation is so brief?" when the manager suddenly showed up and absolutely carried the consultation. The manager gave almost as much explanation as doctors do at other hospitals. Seriously. So the consultation fee didn't feel wasteful. My only concern is that if I actually get it done here, will they really accept the shape I want when I bring it up...? I feel like the director's opinion is very firm, so I'm torn. This hospital seems like they should raise the manager's salary.
