I thought that just getting orthodontic treatment would make me pretty But I never imagined orthodontic treatment could also have side effects. My philtrum got longer and my lips started curling inward like a mouth without lips. I think I developed something like social anxiety and couldn’t really function socially, so after looking into it, I found that some people’s philtrums also get longer after orthodontics. That’s why I looked into philtrum reduction surgery.. I went to five consultations, and at the second place I visited, they recommended a philtrum-shortening nose surgery that preserves the nasolabial angle, so I ended up having the surgery there.. People around me were totally against it, saying it would leave a scar, but I thought even a scar would be better than how I look now, so I went ahead with it. It really was that much of a complex.. But unlike what I worried about, there’s no scar on my philtrum, and I’m truly, truly, truly satisfied.. My impression looks much more refined, and since my philtrum got shorter, I look younger too
