(I'm writing this for the public good.) I had nose surgery here 10 years ago. After consulting with the doctor, we decided on silicone for the bridge and ear cartilage for the tip, and I had the surgery. I was young at the time and had the absurd idea that because it was cheap and a big hospital, they would do a good job, so I went ahead with it and now regret it. After the surgery ended, when I woke up from anesthesia, I noticed there was no bandage on my ear even though they had clearly said during the consultation that they would use ear cartilage. When I asked what happened, I was told that they had opened the nose and found the septum was sufficient, so they used septal cartilage. Huh...? I thought, but then they said, well, at least there's nothing to recover in the ear, so that's even better? So I just accepted it and went home. My nasal tip was bulky and I didn't like it, but... it was at least higher than my original nose, so I just lived with it. Then 10 years later, now I wanted to revise only the nasal tip and also get a checkup on my rhinoplasty, so I went to another hospital and got a CT scan. What was inside my nose was an 'L-shaped silicone'... Anyone looking into rhinoplasty will know how dangerous L-shaped silicone is and that it's not a material that is used much. The doctor here was even more surprised and said, 'Didn't they say they used septal cartilage with silicone? But there's L-shaped silicone in here? I don't even know where the septal cartilage is...' He also said that because the tip of my nose had become a little shorter, there could have been inflammation inside, so it needed to be removed quickly. I was stunned, so I contacted Wonjin, and a manager called me back. To summarize: "10 years ago, everyone used a lot of L-shaped silicone anyway~" -> No. Even when I checked 10 years ago, I heard L-shaped silicone wasn't used much because of the high risk of side effects; "It's been 10 years, so all surgical information and records have been deleted, and because the hospital's business name has changed, we have no legal obligation to do anything for you~" -> No, whether the business name changed or not, you're still operating for consumers as Wonjin Plastic Surgery... "(When I asked whether putting in L-shaped silicone itself was wrong, unlike what was said in the consultation) Customer, then wouldn't everyone's noses who got L-shaped silicone be completely ruined now?~" -> I felt there was no point in continuing the conversation and hung up. They also said things like maybe the silicone they said they used during the consultation could have been L-shaped silicone... When I asked, logically, if that were true, why would they have said the tip would be done with ear cartilage? They replied that even with L-shaped silicone, cartilage could still be placed at the tip... There were so many absurd answers. If I were to get revision surgery at this hospital, they said they could maybe give me some consideration on the cost, but that a full waiver of the surgery fee or any other compensation was absolutely impossible, as if they were doing me a favor... But I have no intention of getting revision surgery here in the first placeㅠ At the very least, shouldn't they reimburse the removal cost of the L-shaped silicone they put in at their own discretion on moral grounds... If you had nose surgery here, you should get checked to see what's currently inside your nose, and if you're planning surgery, you should keep in mind that they might operate with different materials and methods than what was said during the consultation, and if you contact them later, they'll have that kind of attitude.
