Both the reviews and my actual experience suggest that if you want a consultation, it seems like you have to wait at least an hour. I don’t know if it’s because many foreigners come and there are a lot of urgent-surgery cases, or because they intentionally schedule consultations that way. While talking with the doctor, maybe because of some previous trauma, he kept repeating that patients have high expectations and focus on only one thing, and that they need to let that go. I thought I’d just get the necessary parts checked and leave, since in the end I only wanted the essential consultation, but he treated me like someone who can’t make rational judgments, so the consultation ended up taking twice as long.. I understand it because there are so many revision-surgery patients who are probably in emotional distress and psychological pain, but the conversation wasn’t constructive, which was a bit much.. Still, when I asked about things, he usually didn’t open up the medical details during consultations because they’re hard to understand anyway, but he did show an effort to explain as much as possible and tried to speak in a humane, rational way despite the stress and heavy workload. But the conclusion itself was that, in the end, you should know you can’t go back to how it was before (the first time). You shouldn’t expect some huge, clean transformation. Still, he said if you trust him, he’s confident he can do well. He did say the eye itself is a difficult one because there are many areas that need correction. Because of the surgical method and everything, I honestly didn’t get a refreshing answer, so I wondered if it was necessary to make the consultation this long, and it felt a bit frustrating and strange, like he was explaining basics to a patient who was half emotionally unstable and unable to think normally. Still, I could feel that he was trying to think from the patient’s point of view, and the staff also tried their best to be kind, so it left an impression on me.
