Elite is a plastic surgery clinic famous in Incheon, so I went there. First impression of the clinic was: wow, this is a factory! Lots of people, lots of waiting, lots of directors, that kind of feeling. I’ve been to plenty of Seoul factory-style clinics too, and it wasn’t quite like a chaotic market, at least. The director was generally kind, but it felt a little like they were forcing a smile, though honestly that’s pretty similar everywhere, so I just took it as normal. And I got a consultation from Director ㅇㄷㄱ, who explained double-eyelid incision and non-incision surgery, as well as double-eyelid lines, in great detail at the beginning. For someone who knows nothing about double eyelids, it seemed fine to listen to. Anyway, after the lecture, they marked the line, but instead of clearly recommending a certain surgical method and line, they presented me with three options and told me to choose. I thought, then why did I even come for a consultation... First, since I only have a double eyelid on one side, option 1 was just to match it exactly. Option 2 was incision, canthoplasty, and ptosis correction. Option 3 was even a forehead lift. I was just confused about what I was supposed to choose. In other places they clearly said I only needed double-eyelid surgery, or double-eyelid surgery plus ptosis correction, and clearly pointed out which line would suit me. Here it was so vague that I thought it would be better for people who already have a very firm idea of their own 기준. Also, when I asked whether it would be good to do lateral canthoplasty, both the director and the doctor looked flustered and said that was my choice, which flustered me too. Then they asked me why I wanted double-eyelid surgery in a tone like it was absurd, and I just found it funny and thought, well, I want bigger eyes~ and internally decided this place wouldn’t work. At another place I asked about whether to do lateral canthoplasty, and every single one of them gave detailed, careful answers like there isn’t any space to widen, let me mark it once and you can look, and if you like it I’ll do it. So in the end I learned that my eyes don’t need canthoplasty. Actually, they also recommended epicanthoplasty, but since my medial epicanthal fold exposure was already there, it felt unnecessary. Anyway, when I asked the doctor something, he did try to answer in detail, and I liked that part, but I thought it would be better if the consultation were a bit more definite.
