Quite a few people said they first found out from my review that the deposit would not be refunded. For the sake of the public interest and a broader public purpose, I keep bringing it up whenever it seems like it might get buried. I put 1 million won as a reservation deposit into this hospital and tried to cancel the very next day, but I did not get even a single won back. The surgery date was still more than a month away. They said they couldn’t refund it because it was the cost of the 3D implant, yet they never showed me a single finished 3D implant in front of my eyes. According to a desk staff member who couldn’t even keep quiet inside the hospital, they hadn’t even printed it, let alone made it. But later, maybe after being instructed, the consultation manager changed the story and said they had made the implant. The desk staff member who had said at the time that it had not been made just kept their mouth shut. I have audio recordings of all the above and a notarized transcript from a transcription office. I lost 1.1 million won including the consultation fee in just one day. Even after filing a complaint with the Korea Consumer Agency, they never refunded it to the end. According to the KCA staff member, this was a rare case because the hospital had no intention of refunding even part of it, let alone the full amount. They treat patients like this even before surgery, so I’m worried and curious about how they treat patients after surgery, especially if the results turn out badly. I haven’t had the surgery, so I don’t know how good their technique would be. But I realized that for a doctor, skill is important, and so are decent common sense, character, and human decency. Please keep that in mind.
