I went for a consultation for revision eye surgery, and the atmosphere in the hospital was a bit scary. While I was waiting for the consultation, I could hear the sounds of surgery all the way here. I kept hearing voices saying, 'Please sit up, please sit up.' I thought, okay, that's how it is. During the consultation they even took a front-facing photo, and I said I wanted the photo deleted. When I asked them to delete it in front of me, they wouldn't. They only said they would delete it later and that I should come the next day to check, but they didn't explain why they couldn't delete it in front of me, the doctor just ran off, and the consultation itself felt authoritarian. I felt like if the surgery went wrong here, they would just abandon me.
