I had several sebaceous cysts on my face, and they got too big, so I went to a plastic surgery clinic to have them removed surgically. During the consultation with the staff member, they said surgery would be possible, so I was looking forward to it, but then the doctor came in and said they were too close to the skin surface to operate on. But when I asked at another hospital that does both dermatology and plastic surgery, they said that if it's close to the skin surface, surgery is much easier, so I don't know which one is right.
