Body Contouring review at Apgujeongbijei (압구정비제이) · 2020-12-16

After consulting at a famous hospital I found on YouTube and at Apgujeong BJ Plastic Surgery, I decided to have surgery at Apgujeong BJ Plastic Surgery. The surgery was done on 12/8, and I had incisional double eyelid surgery / under-eye fat repositioning / nasolabial fold fat grafting. It has now been a little over a week, and there is still a lot of swelling in my face and elsewhere, so it’s hard to check the final result, but the signs suggest a good outcome, so I’d still like to say it has been successful so far. (minimal swelling, double eyelid line, etc.) I’m a man who just turned 40, and I had been bothered by aging from drooping eyelids, bulging under-eye fat, and nasolabial folds. With some free time recently, I searched for various plastic surgery clinics using YouTube, online websites, and apps such as Modoodoc and Goodoc, then decided to consult at two final places. 1. The famous clinic from YouTube: There are two doctors, but one seems to focus on dermatology procedures, and the main director seems to handle plastic surgery, etc. It is not a large hospital. On YouTube, the director seemed like someone who would be very kind and give a very detailed consultation, but in the actual consultation, they looked very tired and the consultation was short. Since this was my first plastic surgery consultation, I couldn’t ask all the questions I had prepared and ended up with a brief consultation. I was a little disappointed that they kept things very short and focused only on the conclusion, but I went ahead and paid the surgery deposit anyway. (My overflowing desire for plastic surgery) 2. BJ Plastic Surgery, Director Bae Jae-young I visited based only on user satisfaction from apps, without much detailed information about the director, but his credentials were excellent (graduate of Yonsei University College of Medicine, former assistant professor at Yonsei Medical School and associate professor at Sungkyunkwan University Medical School), and the consultation was also very detailed. He seemed to have a special understanding of fat, but not only fat - I also found other reviews saying they were satisfied with the double eyelid surgery and nose surgery they received here. This place is not a large hospital either and is run by a small staff. Anyway, after consulting at the two places, neither recommended unnecessary plastic surgery or procedures, but because of the detailed consultation and the director’s credentials, I ultimately decided to have the surgery at BJ Plastic Surgery, where I felt more trust. Also, the first clinic, where the doctor looked so tired, somehow made me feel that the tiredness might affect the surgery too, so I was a bit, well.. (I guess having many surgeries is an advantage) I went ahead with the surgery without much tension, almost like I was getting a dermatology laser treatment, but even though double eyelid surgery is not a major operation, surgery is still surgery. (I could feel my body getting worn out afterward) After a brief sedation and local anesthesia, I communicated with the doctor while the double eyelid surgery was being done, (meaning I woke up during sedation, and had to open and close my eyes because they needed to check the double eyelid line, so it seems it shouldn’t be done while fully asleep) Then after more anesthetic was administered, I completed the under-eye fat repositioning and nasolabial fold fat grafting while asleep. The swelling is not severe now, a little over a week later, and the double eyelid line seems to be settling in well, but the under-eye fat repositioning and such are still hard to assess properly because of the facial swelling. (They said they would do an additional fat graft in the nasolabial folds after two months.) No matter how common plastic surgery has become, rather than being operated on at a factory-like hospital, I wanted to find a director I could trust with a craftsman-like feeling, and I ended up getting surgery at BJ Plastic Surgery, which seems like a good decision. The doctor doesn’t seem to advertise much, so I’m writing this to promote them for him.
