The director himself wasn't very kind, but I don't think kindness is that important, so it was fine. He asked about the purpose of the surgery and the line I wanted, and explained the side effects that could definitely happen. I also felt very comfortable talking with the manager, but I was disappointed that we didn't really talk much about the surgery.
