I was getting a reoperation after double eyelid surgery from over 10 years ago, and before I went to consult at different hospitals, this was the place I was most excited about. Compared to the consultation fee, the consultation time was short, and they didn’t really use any tools on my eyes to measure the strength of eye opening or anything like that. But the doctor’s attitude was cheerful and kind. He said both incisional and non-incisional methods were possible, but if I chose the incisional method, the double eyelids would be created with an overly strong impression, so he recommended non-incisional over incisional. He said that would suit my face better. Since two other clinics had recommended ptosis correction, I asked about that, and he said it wasn’t needed yet. Instead, he said my interbrow distance was a bit wide and recommended epicanthoplasty. But when I worried whether the inner corner surgery would be okay, he reassured me that it could be done separately anyway, so it was fine either way, and that if I was worried, it would be better to do only the non-incisional method this time. After the doctor’s consultation, I met with the manager, and she was kind too. She told me to think carefully before deciding and said it was important to fully consider the side effects and disadvantages after surgery. She did check at first whether I had some burden about incisional versus non-incisional surgery, but later, when I seemed to prefer the non-incisional method, she did not pressure me. Likewise, she explained about the canthoplasty while showing me example photos of procedures. It was a kind clinic.
