The person who consulted with me was the deputy director (consultation manager), and they helped with the explanation very kindly and in great detail, but the doctor-director was probably so busy that the explanations were not very detailed and they didn’t even ask me much. I didn’t get the sense that they cared about the patient. Of course, what kind of nose shape did I want, and things like looking at my face and saying if we do it this way it will turn out like this or not like this, none of that was discussed. The only thing I remember saying right before surgery was to make my nose straight. They really don’t seem to care about the patient. I had no problem when communicating through the deputy director, who was kind, but the director was the one actually performing the surgery and was rather inattentive. In the end, as expected, after 4 months when the swelling went down, the columella on my nose became too pointed, so they said I would need revision surgery to shave it down again and put it back in. If they had explained things properly from the beginning and approached the surgery with more sincerity, this revision surgery wouldn’t have been necessary. I think they will have to take out the columella they made from the septum before, reprocess it, and place artificial dermis on top of it for the next surgery.
