I had this surgery back when I was in high school and didn't know anything, so at the consultation I think I just said, 'Please make it natural... and not noticeable.' The clinic itself wasn't the type that advertises everywhere, so it wasn't a factory-style plastic surgery clinic. Compared to another hospital later, where I only talked a lot with the consultation manager and barely spoke to the doctor on the day of surgery, here I was able to talk enough with the doctor during consultation, which was good. Since I went when I knew so little, I kept chanting that I wanted my double eyelids and epicanthoplasty to look as natural as possible, and I do regret that a bit. The doctor wasn't the super-friendly type and seemed pretty blunt. I also wanted to do something else besides my eyes, but they firmly said that given my face right now, it would be useless even if I did it, so I didn't do it. Now it's been about 5 years since the surgery, and maybe because it was done with buried sutures, one eye has come undone about halfway and turned into an outer line. I think it came undone a little over 2 years after the surgery. For about a year right after the surgery, people kept saying, 'Your double eyelids are really deep' (= meaning, did you get double-eyelid surgery?), but now it seems like no one thinks I had double-eyelid surgery. Which is understandable, since it has loosened and my eyes are uneven... But the unevenness isn't strange, and actually looks better, so I just left it alone without getting revision surgery.
