Honestly, I think we wanted different things. I had been using double eyelid tape for a long time, and by nature my eye area had thick fat or thick skin. So I decided on incision surgery, and because I had some epicanthic folds, I had the upper canthoplasty done so the double eyelid wouldn’t loosen. And since the line tends to drop a lot over time, they designed the line high, but my friend said my eyes would never come undone, and I think so too. It’s been about 3 years by surgery count, and while the eye size has changed, um... it’s far from natural. There were no other side effects, but because of the deep fixation, when I close my eyes they look bumpy, and because I already had a hidden double eyelid, the lines on both sides are uneven. And the line is high, so it’s not quite sausage-like, but it definitely isn’t natural. Still, when I asked about the outer canthoplasty or lower canthoplasty, they said that even celebrities who had outer-lower canthoplasty only look fine on TV, but up close it shows, so they told me not to do it, and I didn’t. I’m sure I made the right choice not to do it. It was good that they clearly told me what needed to be done and what shouldn’t be done or what should not be done, but... as expected, I’m looking into revision surgery because I still want natural-looking eyes even if that means a hidden double eyelid. For people who want eyes that won’t loosen, or who want flashy eyes even if they look obvious, this might be fine. Oh, and when I had the surgery, it was the middle of winter, so they turned on an electric blanket so I wouldn’t be cold, and they said to let them know if I felt too hot, which was very kind and nice.
