Thanks to the director, I went from a Voldemort nose to a luxury nose. I had nose surgery with septal cartilage 12 years ago, and about 5 years ago my nose slowly started to rise without any inflammation. Then 1 to 2 years ago, from the front it became a clear pig nose, and from the side it became contracted like Voldemort. I knew how risky revision rhinoplasty is, so I tried to just live with it if possible, but as time passed the contraction got worse and it was very upsetting. I consulted at nearly 10 places, but there was no hospital I could trust. After meeting Director Lee Jun-seong at Trend Plastic Surgery, I decided to have revision surgery there, and I think it was a really good choice. The surgery plan was silicone removal, autologous costal cartilage, ear cartilage, retroauricular dermis, plus mouth-line correction (other hospitals call it nasolabial angle correction or cat surgery. But the director does not like the term nasolabial angle, and I have long agreed with that too.) At present, I don’t feel any upturn at all, and the columella is so beautiful that I’m extremely satisfied. I once saw a review saying that Trend’s surgery fee feels expensive at first, but after going through the surgery and aftercare, it feels justified, and you even think you should pay more. That is exactly how I feel on day 19 after surgery... Since the director doesn’t charge more, I’m leaving this review with gratitude. (Even before my consultation and surgery, I wondered why there were so many overly praising surgery reviews about this place, and why people wrote such long, detailed reviews voluntarily when there wasn’t even a discount event. But now I understand it completely. The nose has become so, so beautiful that even 17 million won plus the 3D CT scan fee and medicine do not feel wasteful, because they provide nearly perfect surgery and aftercare. If you look at my previous review, you’ll see that I went around to 10 clinics during November, and finally had surgery at Trend at the end of the year.) I feel very sad seeing that people who recently consulted there have left negative reviews. I was about to not leave a review because I worried that if consultations and surgeries increase, the director may become overworked, but I’m writing because it hurts to see posts that misunderstand him. (My surgery took 13 hours, and even after the surgery the director slept in short naps on the bed next to mine during the night while taking care of me, and I was discharged after morning treatment, rest, afternoon treatment, and rest the next day.) The director is not a salesman but a true doctor. (That was my mother’s expression when she accompanied me as my guardian on the surgery day.) Because of that, he can be blunt and strong before surgery in order to act for the patient’s benefit. (If he were like other hospitals and just wanted to make money, he would probably flatter patients and operate however they wanted.) From the beginning, the director’s philosophy and surgical method matched me perfectly, so I decided to have surgery right away. (And I could really feel the director’s sincerity about noses during the 2 hour and 30 minute consultation. I felt certain that I could trust him with my nose and more than 10 hours of general anesthesia.) But if your thoughts differ from the director’s, do not push your own opinion through; please trust and follow the director’s advice. The director’s expertise, aesthetic sense, and care for my nose are truly the best in the universe. Until day 14 after surgery, I went to the hospital every day except exactly 3 days, including Sundays and holidays, for progress checks, and the director personally handled all the treatment. Now I go once every 5 days. He doesn’t leave something as simple as inserting an injection needle to the nurses; he does everything himself. So I never had to go through the usual post-plastic-surgery anxiety. Not only does the director check my nose every day, he also called me personally every day in the beginning.. (Even before surgery, he called from his personal phone to explain various precautions.) When I thanked him for coming out on a Sunday to treat me, he replied that he wasn’t volunteering for free, so why was I thanking him so much, and that it was only natural. Seeing that, I deeply felt what “professional pride” really means. There are so many hospitals where that “natural” thing is not natural at all... The director is willing to take the risk of being criticized and still insists, even with blunt words, on what he believes is right for the patient, and he takes almost complete responsibility for the surgery and aftercare. (I want to use the word “perfect,” but I said “almost perfect” because I didn’t want to cause any trouble with the director’s careful personality. The director doesn’t like expressions like “last surgery” or “do one’s best.” For example, he thinks the phrase “an athlete did their best” should only be used when the game is over and they have died. I’m not good with words, so I hope this doesn’t get twisted, and I hope my respect for the director’s sense of responsibility and careful personality comes through.) Lastly, the director’s manager and the nurses were also very kind, and I’m truly grateful. The manager supported me every time because it was hard for me to get up by myself from the pain of the autologous rib cartilage the day after surgery; the nurse said alcohol pads could irritate the skin and wiped my ears with wet wipes instead; the nurse who came out with us on Sunday and kindly explained the precautions; the doctor who accompanied me on the cold morning of surgery to get an additional ECG, and so on. Thank you to everyone.) I hope this helps those who, like me, are suffering from contraction and complications. I still have a lot more I want to say, but I’ll leave another review next time. Wishing everyone beautiful noses!
