The pre-op consultation answered my questions kindly without making me feel awkward, and the surgery process was good too, but after I took off the compression garment, the recovery was not good. I had to squeeze out blood and pus and stitch up the open wound, so I had to go back several times even after surgery, and I ended up with a hypertrophic scar, so I’m still getting treatment at a dermatology clinic. Still, the smell itself is 95% gone, so even if I could turn back time, I think I’d still get the surgery. It was that much of a stress. I’m going to live with the scar, telling myself it’s not because of the doctor’s skill but because my skin is thin.
