I had one protruding ear, so my face never looked symmetrical and I always wore my hair down. But after the surgery, it’s so much better. It’s been about 3 years and it’s holding up well. The shapes on both sides aren’t identical, but this is more than good enough. For a while I was bothered by sleeping with a paper cup on, and for a year it hurt if I touched my ears. Be careful when getting shampooed at the salon. During surgery they woke me up to compare both ears, and at first the director had pulled them back too far, so I was worried because the non-operated ear looked more protruding. But after the surgery things relaxed a bit and it stood forward again, so it got better. If they had matched it exactly to the other ear during surgery, the protrusion probably wouldn’t have improved much. The doctor isn’t especially warm, but I think he is responsible and thorough.
