I got a consultation about my pinched nose. Because my septum is short, they suggested costal cartilage, and by explaining the size of the septum specifically, I could understand why that was necessary. They explain things in an easy way so even people without much professional knowledge can understand. It seems that if costal cartilage is used, they prefer donor cartilage over autologous costal cartilage if possible. They said they first do a slight overcorrection and then let the tip of the nose drop a bit so it becomes more natural. Of course, if the patient wants it, they’ll do autologous costal cartilage too.
