Looking at other reviews, I saw many people say that the doctor gave kind consultations, but personally, I did not particularly feel that the consultation was very kind. In particular, I was curious whether eye-shape correction was really necessary, so I asked, “Do I need eye-shape correction?” However, the doctor answered by asking me the same question back, which left me a little confused. I went for a consultation because it was difficult for me to determine what surgery I needed and I wanted to hear a professional doctor’s opinion, but rather than receiving a clear explanation or rationale for my question, I felt as if I was expected to make the decision myself. Of course, I think it is important to respect the patient’s opinion, but I would have appreciated an explanation from a professional perspective about whether eye-shape correction was necessary given my current eye condition, and, if so, why. Overall, what I found most disappointing was that I did not receive a definite answer to the things I was wondering about during the consultation. Personally, I wished the consultation had provided a more thorough explanation before I decided on surgery.
