I went in for a consultation because of silicone complications, and they said it would be best to remove it as soon as possible. They said removal and irrigation could be done without an open approach, and that first I should remove it, take contracture medication, watch the progress for 6 months, and then see how to plan the revision surgery. They said it would have to be either silicone or autologous costal cartilage.
