Revision surgery consultation. I didn’t wait much and went straight into the consultation. I liked that he didn’t seem worn down by surgery. After the consultation, it felt like the doctor’s intention was to use autologous costal cartilage and make it a final-surgery type of operation. My nose had already used the septum and silicone. The doctor recommended autologous costal cartilage plus silicone. Compared with autologous costal cartilage, the price was on the affordable side because of the August promotion, so I thought it was worth trying if I wasn’t planning on another revision. There was no pressure to pay a deposit after the consultation, and nothing was uncomfortable. The consultation itself was sufficient. The reason I ultimately left it out was that they said they needed to use rib cartilage, but they wouldn’t take an X-ray and would just remove it on the surgery day from ribs 8 or 9. They said the ribs there usually have no issues, so it would be fine. I was scared because it would be done under sedation. The day before, another clinic had told me they would do it safely under general anesthesia, so that may have made me even more wary..ㅠㅠ Of course, I read that in a healthy adult it’s unlikely for the ribs to have calcification, and that if they take the lower ribs there usually aren’t major complications, but I think I was worried that because my body is unusual or I’m sensitive to pain, if I twitch during sedation, another problem could happen. Also, I needed to recover quickly, and if they removed rib cartilage, movement would be restricted because of the chest area. For these reasons, unrelated to the doctor’s trustworthiness or skill, I decided to go to the next clinic for consultation.
