Just to be clear so it doesn’t look like an ad, I really paid for this myself. In fact, I’m so satisfied that I feel like some people might think it’s an ad, but I’m genuinely very happy with how well it turned out. I had a first-time lateral canthoplasty plus revision double-eyelid surgery, and honestly I don’t remember the exact cost well... I think it was in the high 2 million won range, maybe around 2.6 to 2.8 million won. The reason I decided to get revision double-eyelid surgery was that, by my standards, my double-eyelid line looked a bit thick, and the biggest reason was to improve my sleepy-looking eyes (in other words, for ptosis correction). Even when I was just opening my eyes normally, people often said I looked drowsy or sleepy, which stressed me out, so I decided to do it. I chose lateral canthoplasty because my eyes are very short horizontally. Even during the consultation, the doctor clearly told me that my eyes were not suitable for much lateral canthoplasty and that I could only widen them by just over 2 mm, and that doing more than that would cause side effects. I’ve seen a lot of people talk about dry eyes after lateral canthoplasty, but honestly I think that’s something you just have to accept. If you gain something, you lose something else. I went ahead with surgery with that mindset, and I definitely did end up with some dry eye symptoms, but I’m so satisfied that I plan to live with it. By my standards, it’s not even that severe anyway... Of course, I don’t know what will happen as I get older..ㅎㅎ That said, please don’t read my comment and rush into surgery thinking dry eye is no big deal~. Surgical results vary from person to person, and in the end it comes down to luck. I hope everyone gets good results.
