They said other clinics were unfriendly and scary, so I was already on edge there, and I came here expecting good things because I had heard a lot of praise, but well.. I could tell he was highly skilled and smart, but he gave off a very strong university hospital professor vibe. He said to ask if I had any questions, but when I did ask, his tone was very irritating, as if he was looking down on me and asking whether I hadn't understood what he said. It was very uncomfortable that the conversation proceeded in a vertical relationship, not a horizontal one between doctor and patient, with the feeling that because he is smarter than me, everything he says is right and I'm stupid. Of course I respect that he's a doctor and knows more than anyone else and is an expert. But I already know that without him having to put it into his words, and it felt uncomfortable to see him so hard at work showing off how great he is. He recommended correcting only the nose tip without an implant, and while looking at my face, he didn't talk about harmony with my protruding mouth or other structures, but just showed me a ton of before-and-after photos of patients with similar types to me. At other places they would tell me things like, because my mouth sticks out, this is good or bad, but here it was just a time for him to boast about his surgical skill. Just looking at the surgery itself, though, I did get the feeling that he would probably do a good job.
