First of all, my pins were very old (14 full years, 15 years by calendar), and this was the only place that guaranteed 100% removal. The cost was decided after the consultation, and honestly, that already felt a bit off. The price was 1.8 times higher than other hospitals, and I agonized over it a lot, but in the end I chose this hospital because I wanted to avoid any situation where pins would be left behind or I’d have to undergo revision surgery. It’s only been a few days since the surgery, so I’ll write about the progress as things develop... but because I have work experience in a hospital, maybe... I don’t know if the staff here were nurses or assistants, but their hand hygiene was really bad. They even inserted the painkiller through the port without alcohol cotton, just poking it in, and I honestly had all kinds of feelings about that. Even if this is a primary clinic, is infection control in a surgical hospital really done like this? Even after the surgery, I didn’t see the doctor and there was no explanation about whether it went well or not. I guess I’ll be able to see them on the next appointment date.
