If you click my nickname and look at the reviews I've written before, you'll see that I've been suffering from sausage eyes for a very long time. I had my first surgery at a large hospital and it completely failed. I had a revision surgery and got my eyes into something like normal eyes to some extent, but they were still uneven, so I had a second revision at the same hospital as the revision hospital. After that I lived satisfied for a while, but after a forehead lift my double eyelid line became high again, so I started looking into a third, fourth, and fifth revision. Now it's been one month since my surgery at Miso Line, and I think I've finished my last double eyelid surgery of my life. When surgery goes well, strangely I don't feel like writing a review, but I wanted to help people who suffered like me + I was grateful, so I came back here on purpose to write one. At the consultation, the doctor was really blunt. He sighed and said I'd had forehead lifting and double-eyelid revision surgeries several times in my 20s. He didn't even mark out a double-eyelid line separately, answered my questions unfriendly, and seemed eager to end the consultation early. What he emphasized and wrote large on the consultation note was, “It will not get worse. But it may not improve.” He kept saying not to expect improvement. If it doesn't improve, why even get surgery? I thought. But because I'm the type with extremely difficult eyes, I actually liked that the doctor gave such a conservative prediction. I wasn't satisfied at all with the conversation with the consultation manager either, and the estimate came out high. The manager had no intention of discussing my case and my eyes with me at all. Even so, the reason I chose this clinic was first, the surgical method. Another hospital recommended a double-incision method, but I thought my eyes would never do well with a two-line method. The method they use here, where they directly incise the existing line and lower the fixation, seemed to me like the method I needed. Second, from reviews on Gaasa and this community, I had gained confidence in the surgeon's skill. So because I desperately wanted to escape the sausage eyes, I went ahead with surgery even after the doctor said it might not improve. I had seen some cases getting turned away at consultation, and I was relieved that I wasn't turned away. There is no review discount, but there is a cash discount, and they asked me to withdraw cash myself and bring it, which honestly didn't leave a good impression. On the day of surgery, when I went in, the doctor was very kind, completely different from how he had seemed during the consultation. It felt like he was only kind to his own patients. I also felt a bit uncomfortable that he suddenly flipped his attitude and acted kind. You might wonder what there is to complain about when someone is being nice, but thinking about it, I think it's because I had been hurt during consultations at other hospitals too. I'm the kind of person who gets very dramatic about pain, and since they didn't use sleep anesthesia at all and only local anesthesia, I was extremely tense, but the anesthesia injection didn't hurt at all. I was surprised. During the surgery, the doctor kept reassuring me a lot. He really tried to put me at ease. I had surgery on only one eye, and it took about 50 minutes, with the pain at about 1 out of 10. Of the 50 minutes, quite a long time before the surgery was spent on the design. Unlike the consultation, where he didn't even mark a line for me once, I could feel that he was carefully setting the line. During the procedure, he kept making me close and open my eyes. I think he made me do it more than 20 or 30 times, and twice in the middle he also raised the chair to sit me up and checked the eye condition. After the surgery, since I hadn't had sleep anesthesia, I was guided to the recovery room completely awake and looked in the mirror, and I was just deeply moved. This was my third, fourth, or fifth double-eyelid revision, so I've really had more than enough of these surgeries, but the swelling I usually had before, whether from the long surgery time and bleeding or maybe from sleep anesthesia (I don't know), was so minimal that it was hard to believe I had just had surgery, and the previously high line had been lowered so naturally it looked seamless. It was just pure emotion.... The sadness I'd carried, the worries, and the time I spent stressed because of sausage eyes all seemed to melt away, and I even felt comforted. I'm not exaggerating; I think anyone who has ruined their eyes like me would feel the same. The most important result. Before surgery, I vaguely worried that if the fixation of the line were loosened, I might lose the double eyelid entirely, but that didn't happen at all. In fact, during the 7-day recovery period after surgery, every morning when I woke up I was anxious that a double fold might briefly form when I opened my eyes, but once 7 days passed the line settled in completely and no double fold formed. Because the fixation became weaker, when I close and open my eyes it now looks natural like a natural double eyelid, so the eye that was operated on now looks more natural than the eye that was not operated on this time. (The line isn't deeply set.) When I show people around me, they get confused about which eye had surgery. And amazingly, both eyes became perfectly symmetrical... They said improvement might not happen, yet they achieved such amazing improvement, and I am truly, truly grateful. After researching a lot, I want to praise myself for going to a rundown but well-known plastic surgery clinic instead of a flashy one. I don't know about other cases, but I really hope people who have suffered from sausage eyes will definitely go and have a look. Thank you very much, Director Sim Sang-baek.
