Before I start, I’ll just say one thing. This is my first nose surgery. The quoted price was surprisingly the cosmetic-nose-only price Consultation details: They drew the nose and explained everything in great detail While touching it themselves, they suggested two surgical methods: correcting only the hump, and correcting the hump together with the crooked nose, and when talking about the two correction methods they said things like, “This surgery follows this principle.” I felt some ambiguity, like you’d only really know after opening it up during surgery..? And when I asked about silicone for the bridge, they said that if they used it, it would have to be laid extremely thin on this nose I’ll just write down the parts I remember from the director’s remarks “The structure of the nose is like a triangular tent” “Just piling things up does not make it higher” - A 150 cm tall person wearing 20 cm high heels looks taller, but does not look like they have become taller. > explanation of structural limits To match my needs, “this is a nose that needs full anesthesia and a proper operation” “But I’m not confident about general anesthesia” - hearing that made me think he was being conscientious, and when I heard the quoted price from the director, it sounded like he was indirectly saying he didn’t really want to operate on me “If we do it under general anesthesia, I (the director) get anxious, so I will definitely keep the patient hospitalized for one day.. an on-site nurse will take care of them” “We’ll block it with cotton, and if you ask the patient how it feels after surgery, there’s a common answer - ‘I feel like I’m going to die from the stuffiness’” “If the septum is crooked, it’s a difficult nose to operate on” So when I asked about functional nose surgery, he said, “This nose should be approached aesthetically. Isn’t there no nasal obstruction?” - but seeing that the non-covered fee table on the website has no disease codes, this is a hospital that does not do functional nose surgery at all Before-and-after photos: maybe because they were photos taken at one week post-op, there was still a lot of swelling. Here, instead of noses turning out pretty, only a few cases had their side profile improved because of the limitations of their natural nasal structure after correcting only the hump, while most had just the hump improved and kept the same side profile. (You can see realistic outcomes.) So I felt it was hard to predict the director’s aesthetic sense, and for nose surgery especially, I felt this was a plastic surgery clinic with a treatment purpose, not a merchant-like one I’ll briefly summarize the quote! 1. Surgical method: hump only Materials: bridge (if silicone is used, extremely thin), tip (septum, ear cartilage if needed) Anesthesia method: sleep sedation followed by local anesthesia, then wake the patient and proceed Deposit: X, O during holidays Hospitalization: X Visit days: 2 days, 7 days (only two visits) Quote: (card) 450, (cash) expected 360 - 405, but I think the director said it might drop to 360 2. Surgical method: hump + crooked nose (osteotomy) Special note: the director himself clearly said he was not confident Materials: bridge (if silicone is used, extremely thin), tip (septum, ear cartilage if needed) Anesthesia method: general anesthesia (internal medicine checkup 2 weeks before surgery) -Internal medicine checkup: to determine whether this person is suitable for general anesthesia. There were more tests like X-rays, blood tests, urine tests, etc., but I can’t remember them Deposit: need to pay 10% of the surgery fee when visiting 2 weeks before Hospitalization: yes, 1 day Visit days: they said they would follow it for about 2 weeks. There are no fixed dates; they said the next visit date would be set while checking the nose’s progress. “Please come back in two days / three days / one week (not fixed)” Quote: (card) 550, (cash) 500 - this one is definite Brief evaluation: I was shocked when I heard the quote, and I expected that even if I paid this much, my needs would probably not be met. Also, if the doctor himself says he isn’t confident, I wondered whether I needed to take the surgical risk myself while also putting the director at risk. In the end I made a surgery reservation at another hospital
