My son usually had difficulty opening his eyes because of ptosis, and he would lift his eyebrows to open them, while his vision kept getting worse, so I was thinking I should have it done when he got a little older. But he said he wanted to do it himself because it was hard for him, so I decided on surgery and searched for a hospital known for men’s eyes. After searching online and contacting a few places, there were many that said surgery wasn’t possible for upper-grade elementary school students... Since my son’s ptosis is fairly severe, if it were done at an ophthalmology clinic it would likely be covered by insurance and cheaper, but I heard sedation anesthesia wouldn’t be possible and fat removal from the eyes would be difficult, so I also considered the cosmetic aspect and went for plastic surgery consultations. I visited a total of three hospitals known for men’s eyes, and because he is a child I worried a lot whether it would go well, but among them the doctor carefully looked at him, had lots of experience with men’s eyes, listened well to opinions about the line and eye shape, and communicated well, so I ended up choosing Director Oh Jae-yoon as my top pick. The director reflected the individual’s needs well, and even with many questions, he was kind and calm to the end, listened well, and explained things thoroughly, so I felt confident it would turn out well. My son is still young, but I hope the surgery result is good~
