I had cheekbone surgery a long time ago, and the result was not good. By now a lot of time has passed, so maybe the surgical skill has improved, I guess they’ve probably handled many patients and gotten better than back then... I developed a nonunion and am scheduled to have surgery at a university hospital. But the thought of lying back on the operating table again is so frightening, and I’m so scared that after going through such a big surgery again, it might separate again or the bone might get absorbed, so I keep avoiding it.
