I didn’t really go here for a consultation because I heard people say they were good; I went because it’s a hospital I’d heard about for years, and the name “naturalism” made me curious about how natural they would make it. I also didn’t choose a surgeon in advance, so I just had a consultation with Director Kang Bo-young, who was available. But during the consultation, she kept emphasizing the limits of my eyes and said she couldn’t give me the line I wanted, so by the time the doctor consultation ended I was already thinking to myself that this was not the place to do it. After the doctor consultation, I had a consultation with the manager. I’d been to more than 20 places for revision surgery, and among all the managers I met during that time, this one was the roughest. Once she sensed that I probably wouldn’t have surgery here, her tone suddenly turned almost threatening, and she asked where else I still had consultations left. But when I told her the hospitals I was scheduled to visit, she didn’t even listen properly. If that was going to be her reaction, why ask in the first place? Anyway, it felt like a pointless power struggle, and I thought it was a waste of time and emotion to do that with the manager of a hospital I wasn’t going to have surgery at anyway, so I didn’t play along. I figured the manager must have a lot of free time. I went because I was curious whether the line would look natural, but in the end I’ll never know.
