This is where my daughter had revision eye surgery four years ago. Her first double-eyelid surgery created the crease too high, resulting in sausage eyes. She had a habit of opening her eyes using her forehead from a young age. I consulted four single-doctor clinics known for eye surgery. Clinics A, B, and C recommended ptosis surgery, saying the muscles that open her eyes were weak, while only Clinic D said there was no problem with those muscles and that it was due to her habit. Because she kept opening her eyes with her forehead, the eyelid between her eyebrows and eyes had become very stretched. Since the loose eyelid kept covering her eyes, she tried to open them wider using her forehead muscles, and the habit was gradually becoming fixed. Anyway, they explained that ptosis surgery was unnecessary and that double-eyelid surgery could fold the loose eyelid so she could open her eyes sufficiently without using her forehead. We had the surgery at Clinic D. However, the crease was set too high and she developed sausage eyes. At first I thought the swelling was just taking a long time to go down, but after a year I realized this was the final result, lol. We then scheduled consultations at three more clinics, and the second one was Clinic A. They explained that there was no problem with my daughter's eye-opening muscles, but unless her habit of opening her eyes with her forehead was corrected, the operated crease might not fold beautifully. They recommended regular forehead Botox to prevent her from moving her forehead, so she would learn to open her eyes using only her eyes. They said the crease had indeed been set too high, and that the previous crease needed to be released as much as possible before creating a new one below it. They explained that when her eyes were open, the scar would be hidden inside the crease, but when she closed her eyes and looked closely, the previous scar would be visible. They were kind and answered all our questions sufficiently. My daughter is rather timid, but she said the staff were truly kind even inside the operating room. It has now been four years since the surgery. As explained, the old crease scar is visible when she closes her eyes, but I suppose that could not be helped. The doctor was kind and the surgical result is good. Her eyes look natural and the crease is pretty. I still wish we had chosen this clinic for the first surgery. I do not remember the exact cost because it was a long time ago, but I recall it was around that amount because it involved releasing the previous crease and performing revision surgery.
