I went in to have my buccal fat removed, but they said it was not buccal fat, just cheek fat, so I had double-chin and cheek liposuction instead. I also asked about platysmaplasty; they said I could do it if I wanted, but it did not seem necessary, so I skipped it. My submandibular salivary glands were enlarged, so they recommended Botox, which I had together with the other procedures. I was so persuaded during the consultation that I had surgery the next day. They seemed cautious about using light anesthesia and tried to keep things safe. I could eat immediately after surgery and live normally enough to take a train. The swelling lasted about three weeks. It was an impulsive surgery, but I am still satisfied. It has been three years, and I still do not have jowls.
