I went for a consultation and the staff member flipped open a booklet and walked me through it, and I was like, what is this? Back then, it felt burdensome to decide on surgery without a consultation with the director. (Actually, I still feel that way.) But now, looking back after I’ve already had surgery, even a revision surgery, and a long time has passed, I wonder what that even meant. Once you go into the operating room, you don’t even remember what was said before anyway. If I could go back, I’d probably just go to a director with a lot of experience.
