Nose Surgery review at Hwi (휘) · 2024-10-12

It's been well over a year. Honestly, like anyone, once things go well, life gets busy and I stop even thinking about writing a review, but I’m writing one after seeing a comment below saying not to just leave it at “it went well” and that I should leave a review at least once. First, I had a short, wide nose, and my skin was thin so I was very worried the silicone would show through. I already had a nose filler, and it was showing through the tip too. I wanted to improve the widening when smiling and the broad front view, so I used costal cartilage and silicone and also had alar reduction. At first, the swelling was enormous and from the middle of my nose to the tip it was bulging up like Mickey Mouse shoes. My bridge was also high like an Avatar character, so I cried while looking in the mirror at home, but in the end it was all swelling. When I told the director about this early on, he said if it came out too thin and sharp now, the silicone contours would stand out later and that it was just swelling, so I should wait a little. He was right, it was all swelling. The major swelling and the Mickey Mouse shoe-like shape of the nose disappeared after about 2 to 3 months, and by around month 4 it seemed natural. By the one-year mark it had settled in so naturally that it really looked like my own nose. I guess you could say it settled in as if it had been retouched in Photoshop in every way.. It looks much prettier. I chose to do it here because once the septum is touched, sagging or shape distortion seems unavoidable, and I feel like they matched it to my face well in terms of both safety and shape. When I was at Saen before, I had doubts about their aesthetic sense because they were mainly focused on reconstruction. And when reading reviews, please don't decide on a hospital based on just one-month reviews.. They say you need to watch the nose for 2 years. In fact, because of my job, I see a lot of people who had nose surgery, and shape changes really happen often. Especially people whose nasal tip gets absorbed, sags, or who end up with a white chalky nose because the silicone contour is too obvious. The style the director pursues here is a nose with a defined contour but a naturally shaped tip. He explains and shows this enough during consultation. I don't think it's the sharp, flashy kind of look. That said, in reviews I sometimes do see cases with no columella or a high bridge, so if that worries you, make sure to emphasize it. He has an engineer-like style, so he isn't the type to carefully manage emotions or empathize much, so keep that in mind. If you strongly emphasize what you want, what you want fixed, and what you absolutely want to avoid during the pre-op design consultation, I think you'll be satisfied even with the finer details! There are really many things you notice after surgery because of changes in appearance, so there were times I felt bitter, but there were far more happy moments. When I see bad reviews, I feel sorry too, but no matter where you go, you can't have 100% satisfaction. I hope you have a good surgery. Thank you to the director too^^
