It has been almost 9 years since my surgery. My previous surgical history included an initial canthoplasty, followed by secondary canthoplasty for a depressed scar (the doctor suggested pushing the scar further inward during the revision), but the scar became worse after the revision, so I looked into restorative surgery. My case was difficult because there was little lacrimal lake exposure and the scar was severe. If there had been more lacrimal lake exposure along with a severe scar, they could have closed it more and removed more of the scar, but that was not possible. So the standard V-Y method was difficult, and there was no option other than the reverse skin redraping method. We proceeded with micro-reconstruction (under 1 mm) first. The severe depressed scar that had bothered me really disappeared, and the shape came out well, so I am satisfied. However, I had severe white scars from the previous surgeries, and the restorative surgery moved the scar from below to the front of the eye, making it extremely noticeable! Also, a depression appears at the front when I smile hard or laugh (not normally). But I cannot say for certain that it is a newly formed scar, because there must have been adhesions in the front area from the first and revision surgeries. Conclusion: I am satisfied with the shape and with the old depressed scar almost disappearing. However, it is disappointing that the existing white scar became more noticeable after moving, and that a dynamic scar appeared (only when smiling). Still, overall I am very satisfied because the old depressed scar disappeared.
