I went because they said botox would fix the gums showing when I smile. They asked me to smile and checked which side was pulling up more, then injected a little more on that side. It was over in about five minutes and didn't hurt. But when smiling, the upper lip needs to curl in a certain amount to look natural, and since the philtrum and lips were fixed in place, it felt really awkward. If anything, it felt more natural a few months later when the botox effect wore off.
