Eye Surgery review at Dakteoseumi (닥터스미) · Double eyelid surgery · 2021-06-20

I got double eyelid surgery at Doctorsme 10 years ago. Even though it wasn't as big back then as it is now, it was already the biggest hospital in Daejeon at the time, and this was when it was in the building in front of Galleria. Even though I had a consultation appointment, there were so many people and it was so crowded that I had to wait about an hour before I could see the doctor. It was about as crowded as the subway during rush hour... There was not even enough seating in such a large hospital. I was surprised by how huge and luxurious the inside of the hospital was. After waiting for so long, the consultation seemed to take less than 5 minutes, which felt rather empty. There wasn't much explanation either, just a line was drawn once and that was it, saying that the buried-suture method would be fine... It wasn't especially unfriendly, but it wasn't especially kind either. He just seemed very busy. No other place had recommended epicanthoplasty, but only here did they recommend it, so I got it done. (I seriously regret it now^^..) And when I consulted with the manager, the price was on the high side compared to other places. The surgery was scheduled late, at 7 p.m... It was really late, so that felt a bit off. I had double eyelid surgery with epicanthoplasty and the buried-suture method. Both the epicanthoplasty and the buried sutures ended up uneven, so I'm now looking into epicanthoplasty revision and double eyelid revision surgery. At least because it was buried sutures, it wasn't a total disaster even after 10 years, but the asymmetry is so irritating...... I really should not have done the epicanthoplasty Other hospitals said I didn't need it at all, but I insisted, and now too much of the inner eye corner is exposed. But even the exposure is uneven... My original interpupillary distance was 3.5, perfectly pretty, and my eyes were nowhere near being close-set, but after forcing it, my eyes now look extremely close together. And dry eye syndrome came as a bonus At least for buried sutures, after 10 years they still haven't come undone. The post-op care was also not great. There was nothing special, and even on the day of stitch removal the doctor was busy so I couldn't even see him, and for the one-month follow-up I waited an hour just to be seen, and I think I saw the doctor for maybe 2 minutes?? He said he was busy... I mentioned the asymmetry, but he didn't say much, just said it came out well and gave the feeling of wanting to finish quickly. I keep thinking why everyone else says their double eyelid surgery went well, but mine turned out like this. If I could turn back time, I would not have had the surgery.
