I decided to get my first nose surgery, so I booked consultations after narrowing it down to hospitals that use custom silicone and aim for a natural look. I waited a month just to get the consultation. The hospital facilities, manager, and surgeon were all kind and nice, but the surgeon’s consultation lasted only about 10 minutes. The reason was that he said I didn’t need surgery and that he personally couldn’t do it. My nose is only slightly bent to the point a layperson wouldn’t notice, but he said if I raised it, it would become visible, so the drawbacks would outweigh the benefits. I couldn’t even get an estimate for which material to use or the surgical method. (The quoted cost was just an approximate one.) I understand what he meant, but I feel like determining that is part of a doctor’s skill. I just got the impression he only wants to do easy surgeries that will turn out well.
